Re: The Rukarumel Conundrum
Thank you, everyone! I am taking all these suggestions into consideration and looking at my collection ... and secretly wondering if I should just do UG Merfolk. 😢

Re: The Rukarumel Conundrum
Thank you to both of you! So it seems like my best bet, if I wanted, say, Knights, is to run Knights and Slivers? Call Knight with Rukarumel and just fill out the knight lacks with slivers? Or else just attempt something altogether different...

The Rukarumel Conundrum
For reference, Rukarumel, Biologist I am trying, with equal parts futility and desperation, to make my Rukarumel deck work. For the sake of argument, let's assume she has the mana-base to cover what I want and need because, barring the ABUR duals in Jodah, I can get her what she needs on that score....

Re: Predictions galore
Please , please, not hybrid! The way it works now is totally fine. I simply hate the idea that I could use a Red Elemental Blast on the Enchanted Evening cast by the mono-white player. But I could. Because Enchanted Evening is always and everywhere a blue-and-white card. It doesn't matter what mana...

Gisa vs. Liesa
Suppose Player A has Gisa, Glorious Resurrector . Player B has Liesa, Forgotten Archangel . Player C has random non-token creature. If a creature dies on A's board, it gets exiled by Liesa, yes? What if a creature dies on Liesa's board? Gisa gets it? Or it goes back to Liesa's hand? What about a cre...

Re: Ayara: Drink Death Like Wine
Thank you both for the suggestions! Plague of Vermin and Necropotence will both go in! Oddly, I think I have a spare Necropotence lying around, but the Plague of Vermin I will have to track down! And I am afraid the deck has never entirely been able to cast off the ghost of Chainer, and the curve sh...

Re: What mechanics would you like to see in future Commander precon decks?
I loved Devotion, so I will just jump on that train, too. Adventures would be good. I really loved the concept of them, but they were just not that good, and no Commander cares.

Re: Mono U artifacts
I have had a lot of fun with Emry, building her as a theme deck. She is the Lady of the Lake, giving out swords to worthy knights. Or since she can never seem to find any knights, handing them out to random ornithopters or myr. It doesn't do anything busted, mostly since the Great Machine is in anot...

Re: Unreleased and New Card Discussion
I'm intrigued as to why Hofri Ghostforge didn't make your list, he seems like the strongest option in a vacuum. The only factpr holding me off him is his (imo) god awful art... Edit: he really does look like a tiny Steven Seagal if you squint... I was so, so disappointed in that art. I loved the th...

Re: What are your aesthetic hang-ups?
Art is extremely important to me. Borders not so much. I prefer black border to white, but if the card is good enough (or pretty enough), the white border won't matter. I love foils, and I think I am part magpie. But there are decks that I have built solely because of the art of the Commander and de...

Re: Are partners a problem?
I have never found partners to be a problem in my meta. There were a few decks of them for a while. I kind of miss the Ravos and Tymna cleric tribal, but Orah is doing better with that. (They're in his 99.) Will & Rowan were unpopular, but that was due to Will's +2 (and being relatively high-pow...

Re: Thassa's Oracle / Jace, Wielder of Mysteries
I get what you're saying, but, I guess my experience has been that people aren't just jamming Thassa's Oracle or especially Jace just to win the game. I see people making value plays with them more than I see people win with them by a significant margin. This has been very much my experience with b...

Re: Questing Knights and the Wrong Colors
I had decent success with a Tymna the Weaver + Sidar Kondo of Jamuraa "Knights of the Loam" deck in the past, with the idea being to use the cheap 2CMC Knights with protection to bypass your opponents blockers to draw cards with Tymna (further aided by Sidar, who is also a knight!) and us...

Re: Questing Knights and the Wrong Colors
Thank you both! And @darrenhabib, that is definitely some interesting tech there! I usually think of the altars as enablers for something like Elenda, the Dusk Rose, but shenanigans with Haakon, Stromgald Scourge sound fun!

Re: Questing Knights and the Wrong Colors
Thank you, Sinis . That really helped to articulate my issue! The payoff for Knights is just ... too low. My meta is not overly strong, but it does have a couple of solidly strong decks (like Kenrith, the Returned King or Kykar, Wind's Fury , and even a Thassa-helmed Merfolk tribal and infinite-turn...

Questing Knights and the Wrong Colors
I have tried, off and on, for years, to build a Knights deck. Sometimes, I just really like a tribe or a commander or concept, and sometimes I just ... can't get it done. For instance, I toyed with 5-color Elves or with Kels, Fight Fixer at the head of Zombie tribal. (In the end, I went Sultai for t...

Re: 40 Life in EDH
I greatly appreciate the 40 life. It makes just the sort of game I am hoping for, lots of opportunity to build board states, but I have not found that 40 life is too much when it comes to trying to chip away at it. Sure, the 3 damage from Lightning Bolt isn't as frightening as it is in 20 life forma...

Re: Kels, Zombie Cult: Feasible?
Thank you both for the suggestions and advice. I used to actually have a Varina zombies deck (disassembled to steal the mana-base for another deck and never rebuilt), and I just built a Lord of Tresserhorn zombies deck for a friend. My own zombie deck is now just an Oathbreaker one, hence thinking i...
