Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Carnage Tyrant
I cut it from Xenagod. For a time it was really good at being difficult to stop, but it still takes 3 attacks to do lethal. I need more firepower than this. I probably only have access to 3 good attacks per game.

Re: [Off-Topic] Community Chat Thread
I'm so used to seeing people copy my signature deck that I have multiple locals doing it.
Anyway, formats have been getting solved too quickly since RTR. This process has only accelerated.

Re: Favorite strategy in the format?
Either super efficient snowball machines or weird constrained ideas that a color combination is not particularly known for.
Combos generally avoided but not disdained if unique enough.
Durdling I avoid unless my poor draws give me no choice.

+Bloodthirster
- Malignus
Outside of gnawbone loops, bloodthirster is the single strongest source of damage in this deck. In a 4 player game it will do 12+24+48 damage, one shotting a target, and only getting better with player count.

- Wurmcoil Engine
- Precursor Golem
- Baleful Strix
- Goblin Welder
- Altar of Dementia
+ Imotekh the Stormlord
+ Triarch Praetorian
+ Canoptek Tomb Sentinel
+ Phyrexian Altar
+ Tribute Mage
Necron cards are overall absolutely insane here.

I still need to send someone on here wedding photos and fun relationship stories. Isn't that a wedding photo up there? Nah, we're both cosplay nerds. Both of us are wearing wigs there. https://thathashtagshow.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/SpyxFamily_Teaser-Cool_2x3.png Coincidentally the plush I m...

Imotekh is actually pretty busted in eggs builds, but you need them to have black in it.

Imotekh the Stormlord is absolutely disgusting here.
Easy wurmcoil replacement. Wurmcoil is half just an overcosted combo piece..

+ Minsc & Boo, Timeless Heroes + Ancient Copper Dragon + Tamiyo's Safekeeping + a land (small removal swaps) - Chandra's Ignition - Neheb, Dreadhorde Champion - Bolt Bend . - Carnage Tyrant Ignition can win games, but I need something versatile that is really good to curve into and still provide...

Re: Marchesa, the Black Rose: Affinity
Rose Room doesn't exist in the same universe. Correct. A different universe I put forward 😛 I've found I get into situations where I can sacrifice creatures on each person's turn and get them back for an impact. With Rose Room Treasurer, that would be 4-8 Treasures and you can do that with very few...

Re: Xenagos, God of 2x Beatdown
I swapped a Forest for Boseiju, no real surprise there.
However, the newly spoiled PW of the summer supplemental set is legitimately good here. I will be running it, and it will likely stay in the list.

Re: Is White getting better?
White right now is basically where red was 10 years ago. When development decided that red was too much of a one-trick color and decided to expand its color pie with looting. I consider Faithless Looting the second most important red card in magic because this started this trend of giving red more s...

Re: Why Ruination is my least favorite card
mass land destruction is just... not good these days. Not a good design, nor actually effective at power levels that warrant it. I do like From the Ashes , but that card actually can be net mana positive when played strategically, which is the only reason why I could consider it any good, but even t...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Cranial Plating
This thing is much less of a beatdown card as a combo piece to go with Marionette Master or Inkmoth Nexus . While the latter will only kill 1 player, the former will absolutely wipe a table in very short order. Even if my Marchesa affinity deck almost never wins via combat anymore, this equipment st...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Master of Cruelties
Effectively a one-shot in certain decks, but I am no stranger to cards that are so synergistic in a particular deck that they can one-shot with ease. This one being ineffective against people with ground blockers makes it much more fair than it would look. The holy grail of one-shotting creatures of...

Re: Color Combo Popularity
Another thing I would like to mention about UW in particular is that you have a serious win condition problem. Even if you're trying to annoy the table with our good friend the Grand Arbiter, you still find that without some kind of compact combo, your ability to win is glacially slow. Even among co...

Re: Marchesa, the Black Rose: Affinity
Oh yeah, I did forget to mention Enthusiastic Mechanaut . Well, I could have played Etherium Sculptor for years, so why didn't I do it until now? Well. 2 reasons. 1) Cheap artifact count is going up and I consider Birgi to be a stronger card 2) Mechanaut flies, meaning it is much easier to attack wi...

I sometimes wonder if my primer thread or my moxfield list gets more attention these days. I also had an interesting situation where someone plagiarized it. Not only did this person not do it well, but it was also posted in an area where I'm a respected advisor. On top of that, I'm also a teacher. T...

Re: Marchesa, the Black Rose: Affinity
Iron Apprentice . Insanely good modular creature Virus Beetle . Time to be really really mean. More mean than lodestone for sure, so probably making that swap. Anything that benefits mass numbers of modified permanents is also worth looking into, but these are my two "oh my god I need these&qu...

If you like copying your Mana Geysers a lot, you could do worse than sink it into this.
