Re: Why is everyone in cEDH keep calling about 'ban' Flash thing?

Talking at all about comparable power level in cEDH is a waste of time because that's not what the issue is with PE. I really don't give a crap what's good or not in cEDH, or whether it's balanced, or anything. Every word you've written about power level in cEDH is a waste of words. I just don't wa...

Re: Why is everyone in cEDH keep calling about 'ban' Flash thing?

Why does CEDH not have it's own ban list?
On a similar note: why are they playing a format which is inherently unbalanced (combo decks fighting different combo decks) and then whine that their meta is wack?

Re: A Take on Titan - No Escape from 12-Rack (Kroxa, Titan of Death's Hunger)

I don't know if I would call Tome wonky in this setting. If you're getting Kroxa to enter regularly at all, it'll be pretty consistent colorless draw. Not being able to draw more than one a turn is the drawback. Maybe Infernal Tribute , since it plays well with getting Kroxa into the graveyard? You...

Re: A Take on Titan - No Escape from 12-Rack (Kroxa, Titan of Death's Hunger)

Nice report!

In terms of adding card draw, I would add Night's Whisper, Necropotence or Ransack the Lab before I would add wonky artifact draw like Tome of Legends. You're in a good color for card draw, use it.

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Vindicate

The fact that it destroys a land is the most relevant part about the card these days. On that note: I really should be playing beast within and generous gift more.

Hmmmm. What do we think?
This is insane in my Sunforger deck. Ocassionaly it also grabs my opponent's equipment but that's rarely that truly valuable. Within your own equipment deck however... It's pretty damn good.

Re: "Help me cut a card" thread

https://archidekt.com/decks/407790#Greatest_Morpling._IRL_16-2-2020 I don't have too much experience with Mairsil as a commander, so I apologize if I'm missing an obvious combo piece or other such interaction. Off-hand, I would start with something like Necromantic Selection , just based on the man...

Re: "Help me cut a card" thread

I'm looking for some advice on my Mairsil, the Pretender deck. It's currently at a decent power level with no intentions go with an infinite combo route. (Although it does ocassionaly happen due to Necrotic Ooze , but if I'm using an opponent's graveyard to go off, I'm fine with it,) It's a control ...

Sometimes the most inspired use of unbridled extraplanar energies is chucking gobbos  You're not wrong, but that's not what THIS is about. There are other threads for the gobbo-launching. The flavor is on point. The izzet look to replicate results on their epic experiments, but sometimes thi...

Re: What's your most unusual commander and/or deck?

Probaly my Yidris, Maelstrom Wielder artifact shenanigans deck, with as many 1 cmc artifacts in there as possible. It plays some all stars like Avarice Totem , Bag of Holding, Witch's Oven and Glaring Spotlight . Some of these have actually been great (I've won multiple games of the back of Avarice ...

Re: Dalakos Does Equipment

Cool deck! From my own experiences with equipment decks, I feel you're playing a tad too many. Even with partners I often end up in a situation of not enough creatures but multiple equipments on the table. So I personally would play more creatures that tutor for equipment. Especially given the fact ...

Re: "Help me cut a card" thread

Let's try this again... My Rakdos deck here finally picked up a copy of Spawn of Mayhem . This card checks a lot of boxes in the deck: enables Rakdos (albeit not on turn three), increases the Demon tribal count (which incidentally could make Liliana's Contract more of a thing), and it's another rea...

Re: Which of these would you build?

1. Which of these decks would be more fun in your opinion? 2. Which of these decks is better? When RTR came out, I made an Epic Experiment deck with Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius as my commander, though he didn't add much to the deck. The general gameplan is that you cast a big EE, then copy it, and as y...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Arcane Lighthouse

I think this was always a meta-call. If your buddy is running an Uril, the Miststalker deck or Geist of Saint Traft . Then you'd probaly start running this at some point. I don't think the printing of shadowspear actually matters for that. Pretty good if there's a lot of voltron in your meta, otherw...

Re: Which of these would you build?

First of all, thanks for the responses! I like the Keranos list. I would leave it without Underworld Breach unless you want to go straight to combo-town. With an already well defined strategy like yours I don't think it's particularly necessary. As far as your gameplan of quasi-cascading into Thousa...

Which of these would you build?

Hi there, I've wanted to make a deck around epic experiment for a long time. I've currently have it as a Kess, Dissident Mage deck, but I've considered switching it to a Izzet shell. Given the power of Thousand-Year Storm I've been thinking about going with Keranos, God of Storms and then using Real...

Yeah, this is pretty damn good. You need to have enough 1 drop artifacts, which aren't all mana rocks but other than that... I really like it in a lot of artifact decks.

shandiris Re: Bag of Holding versus Knowledge Vault : In my opinion, they are more comparable than you suggest. Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Knowledge Vault

It's cool, but bag of holding is way better in terms of mana cost. And I get weird looks every time I play that in this list: https://archidekt.com/decks/409873#Mael ... _17-2-2020 , which is probaly correct.

Re: A Take on Titan - No Escape from 12-Rack (Kroxa, Titan of Death's Hunger)

Cool deck! You're playing a lot of cards I've never heard of.
How often do you win through a combo and how often through the racks? From the outside looking in, they seem at a weird hextaposition. Racks go slow and want grindy games, whereas the combos want to go fast.

Re: "Quirks That Define Your EDH Style"

Another example for this would be Thromok the Insatiable as my Gruul Commander instead of just another Xenagod deck out there. Also, because I love the German translation of "Hellion" which is "Teufelsbraten". I'm curious, does that deck just straight out make tons of tokens and...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Skinshifter

Yeah, agreed it's interesting for cube but too liable to get blown up. Simple beaters (which this in effect is) just aren't great in EDH unless they have double-strike or something (and even then, they're iffy).

Re: 32 (what would you build)

I actually did this thought experiment recently! I have 10 of these decks and I probaly don't want to go up anymore. Maybe one more truly casual deck I can play with newbies, but everytime I build that kind of deck it morphs into a 6/7 power level anyway. (Precon is 4 and CEDH is 10 IMO). Thanks for...

Re: "Quirks That Define Your EDH Style"

1. I don't like being at the mercy of the table when I pass my turn and I typically run a lot of instants and interaction. I'm usually the person someone at the table looks at when they ask if anyone has a response. 2. I prefer utility over efficiency usually. I rather run Utter End than Swords to P...
