Re: Mangara and phasing

I knew the blink and bounce stuff worked, but got hung up on phasing for some reason.

Mangara and phasing

I was throwing together a Mangara of Corondor deck and came across Robe of Stars . I was wondering if this works the way I think it does...If I phase out Mangara in response to his ability will he not exile? It seems like it should work, but I can't really find any rulings on it. Thanks ahead of tim...

Re: Where does it end?

I find myself in a similar position to Dirk, I'd rather sift through my cardboard. For whatever reason doing it digitally always seems overwhelming to me when I try it.

Re: Swing out = Blow Out - mono white

Have you considered Rout and/or Fated Retribution ? There's a plethora of cards like Semester's End now that can be used in response to save your stuff. Not cheap mana wise, but effective. EDIT: Wanted to add that cards like Cosmic Intervention can also be used to save your stuff. White is getting s...

Re: Swing out = Blow Out - mono white

I think Esper is probably better with the addition of Aetherspouts / Aetherize type effects. It certainly adds a lot blue shenanigans. Man, I love me some Reins of Power or Domineering Will to mess with things too. I might try to push Martyrdom again by adding that it is any amount of damage from a...

@MeowZeDung
I really need to give that card(Mandate of Peace) a try, it's been used against me to great effect but I haven't actually slotted it into anything yet.

Re: Swing out = Blow Out - mono white

pokken Gotcha. I do love me some Settle the Wreckage . Works as white ramp in a token deck sometimes too. Comeuppance has been great too, I didn't realize the price had climbed so high. Got mine for a couple bucks I think. Gotta say, Mardu seems to be great for that kind of judo playstyle. You get ...

Re: Where does it end?

Dragoon The name Randuin comes from when I played Hearthstone for a brief time before getting back into MTG full on. There was some deck build called Randuin Wrynn which was singleton and rather random in nature. I think I just remembered that for some reason and called the decks the Randuin series...

Re: Swing out = Blow Out - mono white

Do you use Stuffy Doll or anything like that? If so, Martyrdom is a pretty cool card. I think it's a pretty cool card anyways, I've been experimenting with it ever since building Feather, the Redeemed . The best use has been with Stuffy Doll variants though. Blasphemous Act is bae here too...can kil...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Bolt Bend

They are both great, I run both where applicable. Swat has the clear upper hand, but if you trigger ferocious regularly Bend is great. I ran both in my Greven deck too...that deck was a lot of fun and a complete boogeyman to deal with. Definitely had some satisfying "swats" and "bends...

Re: Where does it end?

Dragoon I made 4 deck shells of 69 cards (for creatures and enchantments) and 79 cards (for artifacts and big spells). There is a pile of about 100+ cards that can be randomly shuffled into the deck for a different experience each game. You could also flip through the piles and customize a deck pre...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Magus of the Library

I like him, he fits my playstyle of holding onto cards too. If they unbanned library that would be...pretty great. Maybe a bit much though. The power of lands in commander is a bit much as it is I feel.

Re: Where does it end?

@DirkGently So there's an experience that kinda defines my mentality about stuff in general. When I was a kid, we had this huge room in our house that was wall-to-wall full of books and shelves. It was great! I had access to read nearly anything I wanted anytime. I think the first time I read James...

Re: Where does it end?

Recently ran into a very similar issue and have been coming up with ways to figure it out. I use 2 3200 count boxes, there are 8 rows total. A row for each color, artifacts, guild colors, and then non basics/basics. Another old portal box (or that battle box thing that came out in like 1995. I've hu...

Re: Sorrow's Path Golos - another stupid deck by DirkGently (Decklist up!)

That's cool, I'll still probably build it one day as an aside. It's not the first time I've put thought into Sorrow's Path and Golos. When Golos was spoiled, so was Field of the Dead ... a card I've had a longer affair with, I smashed the two together immediately. After how gross that first Golos de...

Re: Sorrow's Path Golos - another stupid deck by DirkGently (Decklist up!)

Martyrdom is also super stupid with Blasphemous Act and a Stuffy Doll variant. Basically win on the spot with Brash Taunter. Just take all the damage dealt to opponents creatures and redirect it to their faces.

Re: Sorrow's Path Golos - another stupid deck by DirkGently (Decklist up!)

Have you still been playing this deck? Is it still as fun as I think it can be, Golos shenanigans aside? I thought of some fun, old jank for it. You can use Martyrdom to either save yourself from damage or pile all of your damage from some Sorrow's Path activations onto your choice of Stuffy Doll va...

Re: Sorrow's Path Golos - another stupid deck by DirkGently [WIP]

Came over to check the thread out, been super busy at work this week. Looking pretty good so far! I should have some time to brainstorm with you over the weekend hopefully. I always did want to make a Phelddagrif secret commander deck with red in it. Use Repercussion and hippos to kill a table. Glor...

Re: The Spinning Wheel of Poop

@hyalopterouslemur

The monger cycle is great. Maybe the deck should just go all in on those things and Endbringer's Revel and it's ilk. That'd be dumb. Maybe Endless Whispers.

Re: The Spinning Wheel of Poop

Agreed on the deathtouch, but lifelink should be great. Adjacent silly idea - Noxious Field on Hissing Quagmire is pretty sick if you can give it indestructible or regenerate it (yavimaya hollow)? Probably worth including both of those in the deck lol. Those are definitely both worth including. Gol...

Re: The Spinning Wheel of Poop

DirkGently I felt the same way about Cacophodon [/card] lol. High Priest of Penance really does get to try and be a rock star here eh? Dictate of Heliod is nice because flash can be fun, not sure if it's worth running too many anthems. They are just kinda bad, but in this sense it could be worth it...

Re: The Spinning Wheel of Poop

DirkGently No worries on hijacking the thread, it never really had a chance to go where I originally intended anyhow. This is a a great conversation. Nesting Grounds seems like an awesome way to get that counter on there. I suppose it's probably asking too much of the deck to be able to donate sorr...

@Feyd_Ruin
Thanks for the awesome list, there are some gems in there for sure.

@Legend
Wow a whole cube of bad cards, this should be a good look. That's even better than a deck, but I could never convince anyone to try cube before we could scarcely get together, Maybe still worth it though...

I just imagined using Phelddagrif to give away a bunch of hippos, give away sorrow's path and use repercussion to try and kill people
