RIP
I know the feeling about a deck in that power level space - not fun, though the theorycrafting and deckbuilding still is.

Wouldn't this be a deck for Skybind? And Sacred Mesa (one of my all time favourite cards!)

Re: Thalia and The Gitrog Monster
Been lurking this thread for some time, since I'm tempted by Abzan lands too and play various lands-decks. If I would make a lands deck with W, I would utilize Flagstones of Trokair too the max. Like, get it into play, sac it with Squandered Resources , play again from 'yard = profit. If you get a C...

Re: Let's brew: Thrasios and Tormod lands
I feel like Drownyard Temple could pull some serious work if you have a way to sac it.
Also, with all the tokens, Dread Return would be a nice tech to have, that's almost free (if Tormod's online).

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Hazezon Tamar
Oh, this is my boy. When I started playing EDH I was all into UBw-control, but then I found Hazezon Tamar in my LGS's pennybox (along with other goodies) and I had to make a deck for him, even though he was in the colors I like the least. Through the years the deck has seen a coulpe of iterations, b...

Re: Zurzoth, Chaos Rider BURRRN!!!
I've been eyeing Solphim too for my deck, even thought about making him the commander but it's damn hard to exchange Squee since I have so many fonds memories with him. But a doubler in the command-zone is pretty darn good. Well, Solphim will paint a pretty big target on your head, so I might be oka...

Re: Zurzoth, Chaos Rider BURRRN!!!
Chiming in here since I myself play mono-red burn. A whole lot different then yours (I like spells more then creatures), but still I might have some valid suggestions.. Also toyed with Zurzoth a while back and loves the chaos he brings! If you want evasion for him, a nice little way is Key to the Ci...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Bhaal, Lord of Murder
The tap-dauls are obviously good in decks that care for both land-types. W/B with Emeria, the Sky Ruin and Cabal Coffers, yeah then I want as many duals as possible. Besides that, then I'm with Dirk, there's simple to many better options.

Re: Mono Red Burn with Squee, Goblin Nabob
Hey Cyriss! I havn't really seen anything in the last couple of sets that piqued my interest. So the deck in the OP is still the deck I would play.
What about you? Have you been playing this deck and have some experience to share?

Re: Mono Red Burn with Squee, Goblin Nabob
Ages since I've played a game of EDH but yesterday I logged onto Cockatrice to enter a game with randoes. It was a fairly casual pod with horror tribal, seamonster tribal and rakdos spellslinger/burn, but it was pretty fast paced. I had Maze of Ith from turn 3 or 4, so the damage was mostly distribu...

You could allso just go all in and build Pauper-DH decks. Uncommon commander and the 99 commons.

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive
The funny thing is the poor synergy with anthems. weenie decks want anthems, so this ends up being a nonbo in the 99. Takes a deck that doesn't want to win with combat damage. That's not true, for my build at least. Sure, it not at all consistent but it can quickly take over games if not dealt with...

Re: Gauntlet of Might deck
I wish there were a red commander that just...drew me a bunch of cards in a nice clean way, that wasn't super vulnerable to removal, didn't need a massive buildaround, and didn't really want a ton of mana rocks to ramp out fast like Etali, Primal Storm . Enter stage: everyones favorite dockhand Squ...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Riftsweeper
Where Riftsweeper shines is in Slide decks. Well, maybe it will never shine that bright, but it will find uses. If you play a pretty convoluted wincon, it's also great to be able to put that back into your library should it get exiled.

Re: the negative connotation of the term cEDH
Just something to consider. Would it be possible to imagine that it should be EDH (and not cEDH) that changed to a more casual format? Given DirkGently s banlist-thread, not few wanted more cards on the ban-list. I used to play regulary, but now I rarely play. One reason being the powercreep (and I ...

Re: Mono Red Burn with Squee, Goblin Nabob
So I updated the OP with what I'm currently running. The new Innistrad set provided four cards I'm most likely going to keep in the deck. Ardent Elementalist is a shoe in. Cathartic Pyre is not overwhelming but pretty flexible. It's also an instant, which I have wanted to add some more off. Same goe...

Hey! Thank you so much for the comment.
This is by far my favourite deck of all times, and yes I still play it ocassionally and I do actually have a couple of updates that havn't been added. But let me get back to you tomorrow - I just got home from three very long workdays.

Re: Nissa's Spanish Inquisition!
I feel you, toc. Dadlife certainly is consuming, but it also feels the magic community as a whole has been declining, hiberating like. Maybe it's just me... But I still enjoy the game, even though I don't get to play much, I still wanna collect these crazy new cards that comes out. As someone that l...

Re: Mono Red Burn with Squee, Goblin Nabob
So I got a couple of games in with the new additions, well two out of three that is. I excluded Birgi, God of Storytelling // Harnfel, Horn of Bounty , since I really didn't like either side that much. But having an unconditional counterspell is SO freaking nice. It'll stay forever in this deck. I w...

Re: Nissa's Spanish Inquisition!
Yeah, I didn't see anything for Nissa myself. Which is fine for me, since there have been so many new cards coming out lately. I'm not so sure about In Search of Greatness , I mean, it's pretty inflexible. Once you played out a fatty, it's a scry 1 at upkeep, which isn't that great. Toski, Bearer of...

Re: Mono Red Burn with Squee, Goblin Nabob
Oh boy, did Kaldheim bring something for me to think about. I'm looking at three cards, proplerly just the two of them. And I might even cut it down to just one, lol. First one is Birgi, God of Storytelling 's other side, Harnfel, Horn of Bounty . It's a very nice digging option, but I think I have ...

Like 3drinks said, I wouldn't touch a format like this, when you have to make changes according to the everflowing values of the secondary market. But Pauper-EDH exists, and it's a lovely format!

Re: Nissa's Spanish Inquisition!
Okay, just started brewing yesterday, and the deck kind of build itself. It uses Kamahl, Fist of Krosa as a wincon in the CZ, then ramp as freaking many lands into play that you possible can. Not sure yet how many lands I want to play, but it's above 40. This was from my first goldfishing. By turn 8...
