Ikoria for Peasant Cube

Grimdancer looks amazing - will be making room in my cube for that.

Sprite Dragon looks like a fun alternate to Stormchaser Mage - less initial toughness but permanent prowess pump.

Re: Theros: Death Beyond - Peasant Spoilers

It's probably just Chainweb Aracnir and Irreverent Revelers for me. Not sure what I'll pull for the spider, but I might swap Manic Vandal for the satyr.

Re: Theros: Death Beyond - Peasant Spoilers

Of those, Renata, Called to the Hunt is the only one I'd consider, but I already have Rhythm of the Wild and Good-Fortune Unicorn (which replaced Juniper Order Ranger ), and I'm not running Grumgully, the Generous . It just seems like we're getting flooded with this type of ability. I do have Murder...

Re: Theros: Death Beyond - Peasant Spoilers

Now that Chainweb Aracnir has been confirmed, I think I'll have to find a slot for it in my cube.

Re: Endrek Sahr vs Ayara

I was planning to build an Endrek Sar deck for quite a while but never got around to it. Then Throne of Eldraine came around, and I built Syr Konrad and threw both Endrek and Ayara in the 99. I've had them both in play, and they are both fantastic choices. I think they obviously both want to be in e...

Re: Throne of Eldraine Spoilers for Peasant Cube

Hey, there are people here! I've only been checking in here sporadically because it seems everyone stayed over at mtgsalvation. As for Throne of Eldraine - it's interesting; I haven't quite decided what I think of the new mechanics, and there aren't any cards yet that I really feel like I need to ad...

Re: Anje Discard's into combo

I'm going reanimator, and there's a combo I want to try: Paradise Mantle , Tortured Existence , Glint-Horn Buccaneer , and any two creature cards with Madness. You tap Anje for a black mana, use that to activate TE, discard a creature with Madness to get another back, untap Anje, rinse and repeat, a...

Re: Hybrid mana

No one would want beseech the queen. 6 mana tutor is garbage. No one plays diabolic tutor except budgets. You mean "no one plays Diabolic Tutor except low-budget decks because if they're in black, they already have access to a half dozen far superior tutors." But you're forgetting all of ...

Re: Hybrid mana

No, you can't run Avacyn in your Chainer deck, and no, you can't play Kitchen Finks in your Yisan deck. It's a blatant strawman to compare Avacyn in a Chainer deck to Kitchen Finks in a Yisan deck -- these things are not the same. Not a strawman at all, if you had read what I was responding to: I a...

Re: Hybrid mana

I am not arguing its not both. I am arguing that it was intended that they are playable in either. That was the design for the cards. They were not supposed to need to be played in a deck that had both colors and could produce them. They were intended to be played in either color. The popularity of...

Re: Hybrid mana

I have always been in favor of allowing hybrid mana to be either. The argument of it being against the flavor of EDH is kind of laughable to me as every colorless card that mimics something that a color does has the same problem. We also have scope creep of colors in terms of things like Chaos Warp...

Re: Hybrid mana

Ugh... I was hoping that the new site would give us a world free of this debate. Corner case that I don't find to be a particularly big deal. "Corner case"?! How many corner cases do you need before they aren't corner cases? How many before it becomes a convoluted mess and you decide that...

Re: [M20] Potential Includes and Testing

Vampire of the Dire Moon really does a lot for one mana, and I've included it in my cube. One of these days, I hope to cast it turn one and follow up with Scale Up on turn two for a twelve-point live swing. It also makes for a mini vertical cycle with Gifted Aetherborn at two and Vampire Nighthawk ...

C19 for Peasant Cube

The Peasant Cube subforum has sat silent for too long. Time to start a discussion. We may not have much from C19 yet, but spoilers are rolling, and I hope to have more options in the coming week. So far, we have these: Leadership Vacuum - useless for us Scaretiller - Interesting design (and a lot be...

Re: First Annual Commander Climate Survey

I am fairly happy with the format and even happy with most of the decisions the RC makes, but I do not care for having an independent body in charge of it from a conceptual standpoint. I would prefer WOTC hire these guys and integrate them into commander development fully, I really don't get that. ...

Re: First Annual Commander Climate Survey

I would love to see the command zone tax changed to: Cards cast from the command zone cost {2} more to cast for each time a card is returned to the command zone; this is an additional cost. So, if you had partner commanders, the commander tax would be cumulative between them rather than tracked ini...
