Re: Does This Do This?

Yes, you can make the Hellkite arbitrarily big (infinite does not exist in magic; you do need to choose an actual value). You can choose to apply Training Grounds cost reduction first to get the ability down to {1} mana and then Sam's ability reduces that {1} to {0}. Also, I will echo void_nothing's...

Re: Advanced Search not working for "Oracle Text"

It seems to work for me. I leave the search criteria on "Contains" and "enters the battlefield" returns 5,871 results. However, setting the search criteria to "Is Exactly" will cause that to return 0 results because nothing has the oracle text of exactly "enters th...

Re: Cards Missing for Collection

Looks like there may be some other missing cards. This time it is the MKM Special Guest cards. I think all are there except I can't add foil versions. In my case, I am trying to add a foil version of Tireless Tracker.

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Sen Triplets

"I play this, then everyone has to kill it or I %$#% them in particular out of the game" is not a fun play pattern. I know that's how many people feel. But is that really how this card ever played out? I think I played against it once in Paper and only a couple times online but I would ag...

Re: Karador, Ghost Chieftain - Quest for Control

My main issue is the MV limitation. Karmic Guide gets me any creature (and that is primarily what I am going to want with it) whereas Angel only gets 4 MV or less. Granted, it is any permanent, but still somewhat limiting. Compared to Sun Titan , it does get me Yawgmoth, Spike Weaver , and False Pro...

Re: Shanid, Sleepers' Scourge

Here are my thoughts regarding Outlaws of Thunder Junction and the associated Commander set: Black Cards Tinybones, the Pickpocket - The ability on this isn't all that great but it could come in handy. Mostly though, it is a cheap legendary that can trigger Shanid and give me some board presence as ...

Here are my thoughts regarding Outlaws of Thunder Junction and the associated Commander set: Multicolor Cards Akul the Unrepentant - Not entirely sure this fits but it could offer up a way to get some of my more expensive creatures onto the field. Arguably though, I could see this guy leading up a n...

Here are my thoughts regarding Outlaws of Thunder Junction and the associated Commander set: White Cards Final Showdown - Instant timing wrath seems great. I am almost certainly going to find a spot for this in a lot of my decks, this one included. Red Cards Embrace the Unknown - This is a great car...

Here are my thoughts regarding Outlaws of Thunder Junction and the associated Commander set: I didn't really find anything that stood out as being worth including. Granted, since Morska is basically a goodstuff deck, it is tougher to recognize something as just goodstuff versus playing into the them...

Here are my thoughts regarding Outlaws of Thunder Junction and the associated Commander set:

Green Cards

Goldvein Hydra - This seems like it would be really fun to copy and, by dying, it helps fuel a lot of the other X spells in the deck. I think it is worth a try.

Here are my thoughts regarding Outlaws of Thunder Junction and the associated Commander set: Multicolor Cards Pillage the Bog - I am mostly commenting on this because it seems I could see a lot of cards with this card. But I do only get one card out of it. I like it for how it plays with the deck bu...

Re: Karador, Ghost Chieftain - Quest for Control

Here are my thoughts regarding Outlaws of Thunder Junction and the associated Commander set: Green Cards Voracious Varmint - I don't think I do anything with this as there are other options I like better for now, but I do like they are still doing this type of effect for this cost. Multicolor Cards ...

Re: Hazezon, Shaper of Sand - Traversing the Desert

Here are my thoughts regarding Outlaws of Thunder Junction and the associated Commander set: White Cards Final Showdown - I like the idea of an Instant Timing wrath and especially one that can help keep Hazezon alive. This allows me to get Hazezon on the field without worrying about potentially need...

Re: Ephara, God of the Polis

Here are my thoughts regarding Outlaws of Thunder Junction and the associated Commander set: White Cards Angel of Indemnity - I like the effect of the Angel and the easiest comparison is to Sun Titan . The most obvious issue is that Angel does not trigger on attack. And it costs 8 extra mana to get ...

Re: Snapcaster and FoW

No, you cannot. Both Flashback and FoW's "cast for free" ability are alternate costs. And you can only use one alternate cost when casting a spell. And only Flashback lets you cast if from your graveyard.

Re: Karador, Ghost Chieftain - Quest for Control

If you're able to resolve an Eerie Ultimatum this is probably the last thing you'd care about, but if you diversify your basic lands to half regular and half snow-covered ones you'll get more lands from the Ultimatum. That is a pretty good point. And might come into play if someone were to play Fie...

Re: Ephara, God of the Polis - Flash & Taxes

While I ponder what card I cut for Charismatic Conqueror (probably Saltskitter ?) I wanted to write a little about my experience with Urza's Saga in this deck. That is still one of my first thoughts when it comes to cards to cut. It fuels Ephara reasonably well but so do a lot of cards. Well, first...

Re: Hazezon, Shaper of Sand - Traversing the Desert

Gamble might need to find its way in either way. Along with Life from the Loam just to give some additional options. I will say that my primary thought is being able to get something off Chord of Calling , Elvish Reclaimer , or Knight of the Reliquary that can help stall the game. Selfless Squire en...

Re: Hazezon, Shaper of Sand - Traversing the Desert

The main reason I didn't look to Constant MIsts as an option was because I have no real way to get to it, other than drawing a bunch of cards. Spike Weaver and Chasm can be tutored out with other cards. I do agree that it has more synergy with the deck but that becomes less relevant if it takes me m...

Re: Hazezon, Shaper of Sand - Traversing the Desert

I have been running a few more games as tests and things are looking up. I did end up losing one game but that was primarily because I didn't do my math right with Jetmir, Nexus of Revels on the field (and I forgot he provided Vigilance) and I left the person with 3 life left. And then they cast Cyc...

Re: [mtgnexus] Random Card of the Day - Celestial Dawn

I definitely played this as super fixing in a young Kaalia. Kinda funny that it'll make certain swords fall off. I wonder what happens when I control Painter's Servant (red) and someone casts Donate and gives this to me. Why is this relevant? Let's say I'm playing Torbran, Thane of Red Fell so now ...

Re: Hazezon, Shaper of Sand - Traversing the Desert

Ugh..... I played a game online and got to 9 poison counters but was able to stabilize. I was lucky that another player took out the Infect creature and then I drew into Hour of Revelation a little later to reset everything. The infect player was playing Ivy, Gleeful Spellthief which led to a lot of...

Re: Hazezon, Shaper of Sand - Traversing the Desert

Convergence would be really nice to include but yeah, 8 mana is just too much. I might just have to accept that I am going to be weak to fliers in general. Unless I want to add something to give all my creatures Reach or something. I had thought of Elder Gargaroth but it doesn't do a lot here. Hydra...

Re: Hazezon, Shaper of Sand - Traversing the Desert

I got another game in and it went alright, but not great. I had a huge army at one point even with Vaevictis Asmadi, the Dire trying to beat me down (fliers are becoming a real concern). I was able to get in about 27 damage back at Vaevictus thanks to Shefet Dunes . Unfortunately, they cast Kenrith'...

Man I apologize for bishop, in my head it was "creature 3 or less ETBs" like Tocasia's Welcome template. It's so hard to keep track of all that! No worries. I should have checked it more closely when I added it as I too thought it was on enter :) Bennie Bracks, Zoologist is really strong,...
