Re: [Official] State of Modern Thread (B&R 07/13/2020)

Ive always had a question about modern. Why god why do I always see lists with fetches always not full setting a fetchland and getting by with off color fetches even when they should be adding two more like wooded foothills? Why do they add prismatic vista to the mix when two fetches would have bee...

Re: [Deck] Amulet Titan

I thought it was still a very good card, albeit hard to cast. What is your current list? I really need to play a deck that beats UR this weekend. :) My current list is: Nonlands (26) 4 Amulet of Vigor 4 Arboreal Grazer 1 Expedition Map 4 Explore 4 Dryad of the Ilysian Grove 1 Azusa, Lost but Seekin...

The main was close to this.

But my side was very different, including 4 Aether Gust.
Why Gust?

Re: [Official] State of Modern Thread (B&R 07/13/2020)

Control will love jamming 4 Counterspells when opponent manages to resolve Teferi, Time Raveler. :P

In all seriousness tho, I'm stoked to see Counterspell in Modern.

Re: [Official] State of Modern Thread (B&R 07/13/2020)

Personally I'm hoping for a Council's Judgment reprint in MH2 now that Counterspell is "leaked". There was a list of cards that are supposedly in MH2 and Council's Judgment is in it.

Re: [Official] State of Modern Thread (B&R 07/13/2020)

Counterspell would be a lovely low bar addition that would make little difference in real-world, but WOTC will make a HUGE deal about it! I suspect it would be a 2-3 of, not a 4 of. I know I'll be jamming 4 Counterspells in every list just because I want to play 4. We didn't come all of this way to...

Re: [Official] State of Modern Thread (B&R 07/13/2020)

asking the same thing I asked in pioneer. What decks are currently good in modern right now? just want to to be updated. thanks, Heliod Combo is the "deck to beat" right now, Izzet and Monored Blitz are still great. The most common Shadow deck now is Jund Shadow, and Green Tron is back to...

So tspjendrek is casually slaying it with Esper right now and we're totally gonna just not even acknowledge it? Really? :)

I'm more surprised by the lack of Archmage's Charm but I don't see where to fit them when I look at the list.
Oh yeah, no ACharms is pretty surprising. Sometimes it's about what isn't there, not what is there.

Re: [Deck] Blue Moon / Izzet Breach

I don't know if anyone is still following this thread, but I've started a league with Izzet Kiki on my youtube channel. I looked for a dedicated Kiki thread and couldn't find one, so hopefully here will work just fine. I can remove and repost elsewhere if necessary, though. https://youtu.be/K4RiVtq3...

Re: [Primer] Esper Draw-Go Control

It looks quite solid. I think relic isn't great. Cling to Dust x1-2 should be in the 75 perhaps. You could run Relic x2, Clingx1. Whats the thought behind the Dispel x2? I also think Mystical Sanctuary is x2. It's one of the more tech things we can do. Maybe drop an Island? I also can't decide abou...

Re: [Official] State of Modern Thread (B&R 07/13/2020)

I have to say, fearing misclicks is a minor reason not to buy into mtgo. It's pretty easy to learn the hot keys, and it's worth the short learning curve to be able to play imo. The hardest part of MTGO is accepting that you're buying the same cards twice, but you don't really "own" the onl...

Amulet now plays at least 2 Turntimber Symbiosis // Turntimber, Serpentine Wood as stock, often 3 copies. It's even played in Karn builds.

Been messing around with a list with Bala Ged Recovery // Bala Ged Sanctuary , Tangled Florahedron // Tangled Vale , and Kazandu Mammoth // Kazandu Valley on MTGO. Re: [Official] State of Modern Thread (B&R 07/13/2020)

I see that noone's mentioned the interaction between flip spell/lands and Goblin Charbelcher -- you can now play a "0-land deck" with all of these spell lands, thanks to the fact that they exist only as spells in any zone other than when you play it as a land. This also means, from what I'...
