You'll see there are two Azghals. The original is the non planeswalker. But, I kept trying to shoehorn a mechanic into him not attacking but being "fought" and then planeswalker occured to me.
His numbers are not anywhere close to final and will need to be shifted a lot (hence asking yall).

The general idea - While he is on board he has a static "encouraged to attack" because the Boss had an aura that hurt the PCs the further away from him they were.

Then, each turn would just be +1 him making him a creature that hits back when attacked. Doublestrike means (excluding other first strike) an attacker needs a body big enough to survive. The absorb is reflecting his body (like trample over his creature body into his loyalty body), in that damage over his creature body WILL remove loyalty counters. Unlike Gideon, but like Arlinn.

So, it becomes a kind of timer. Sending in creatures to punch him in the face so he cant reach his finale ability.

Instant planeswalker damage spells on his turn would also hurt him, because they could blast in before he gains absorb.

Like I said, the actual numbers for all of his stuff isnt tuned to make sure it is actually killable, but also isnt improbable to ever get to his -8.

Power and toughness and cost are 9's mostly for thematics of serving Azmodeous.
