Near-useless in EDH, far worse than it looks everywhere else. If they pull the rug out from under you and destroy your creature in response, you will likely lose the game on the spot. Best case scenario, you're paying 8 mana (or exiling enough cards to cover it) to grab a second Avabruck Caretaker or Tovolar's Huntmaster at instant speed, and if you've already stuck one, you're probably winning the game anyway.
