So, Pandora's a boy in this telling. (Even if Pandora works as a name because it means "all gifts". Ha!)

I can't see how this could possibly go wrong.

(I actually like this trope: One temptation leads to the first apocalypse.)

Potentially giving your opponent something big reminds me a bit of Dubious Challenge, though obviously not nearly as bad since this is still a draw 5 even in the worst of times. Of course, with my luck in EDH someone's going to pull my Cruel Ultimatum with this at the worst possible moment.

When I say "I can't see how this could possibly go wrong." I mean "Yeah, this'll hurt you far more than it'll help you."

The only way I can really see this used (abused?) is:
A) You can ensure your opponent doesn't get something great
B) You ensure they can't cast whatever it is.

(A) is hard because the kinds of decks that could ensure nothing "great" is flipped (ie: burn) won't usually want a 5 drop card drawer, and can even then still run the risk of flipping another Allure of the Unknown for the opponent.

(B) seems the most likely use, and is entirely possible (Grand Abolisher, Xantid Swarm, etc), but you'd need to add a third color.
